If you’re in Sedona and you need a sewer repair, you can benefit from the advantages of trench less sewer repair technology.
Sewer and drain repairs are usually unexpected costs. Being able to utilize a technology that is less invasive, can not only save money, but also preserve property.
There are two main methods of trench less pipe repairs. Pipe bursting and CIPP (cured in place pipe)
Both technologies utilize the existing sewer pipe to allow for installation. By utilizing the path of the existing sewer line, you can avoid trenching a path through your property or home. Most of the work is performed underground.
Pipe Bursting in Sedona
Pipe bursting is a method of sewer replacement that involves excavating two access holes. Typically, one hole near the beginning of the sewer line, and one hole at the end of the sewer line. A steel cable is ran through the existing sewer pipe. A hydraulic ram is used to pull the steel cable. The steel cable has a “bursting head” attached to the end of it. While the hydraulic ram pulls the cable, the bursting head will “burst” open the existing pipe. This will create a path for the new sewer pipe. Generally, you’ll see HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) pipe being used as the new pipe. HDPE pipe is very resilient, impervious to root intrusion, and very slick. Being oil based, the HDPE pipe resists build up over time with usage.
Once the new pipe is in place, you can enjoy worry free use with a life expectancy over 100 years.
Cured in Place Pipe (CIPP) in Sedona
Cured in place pipe is a method of sewer repair that involves utilizing epoxy and felt, to create a new pipe, within the old pipe. A two part resin is mixed together creating the epoxy. The epoxy is poured into a felt liner. The felt liner is then loaded into an inversion tank. The inversion tank uses air pressure to insert the new epoxy liner. Once in place, the liner is cured with hot water. After curing, the new pipe will have a life expectancy over 50 years. Cured in place pipe installation is the only trench less method that may involve no digging. But for most properties, access to the existing pipe is very limited. In most cases, one small excavation hole is required to install an epoxy liner.
