As a licensed plumbing contractor for the past 15 years, I know what good tools are. Being in the industry this long has allowed me to test out many different tools, equipment, and products.
When you are relied on by your customers, it is important to have tools you can rely on. After all, if your tool goes out mid project, you could be losing money.
For this reason, it is essential to purchase equipment that you know will have longevity, durability, resilience, and provide value to yourself and your customers.
With that being said, here is my review of the best sewer pipe line inspection camera.
Here at Legendary Home Services, 60% of our business is drains and sewers. We complete a handful of sewer pipe line inspections everyday. We also offer pipe lining services and have 8 sewer cameras. Every sewer camera we own is from Ridgid.
Although we currently own only Ridgid sewer cameras, it hasn’t always been this way. After 15 years of plumbing services, I can honestly say I’ve tried every other brand out there. I started out buying really cheap camera systems because I was in fear of making the investment. Shortly after owning the cheap camera systems, I quickly realized that I needed a better one. Constant breakdowns and kinks in the push rod, induced my search for another camera system.
So, we bought one after another, until we came across the Ridgid cameras. After a few days of using their camera systems, we were hooked. The push rod was better, the camera head passed more turns, and the clarity of video image was superb. I was hooked and wasn’t going back.
No other camera system we’ve owned has offered the same durability and longevity that Ridgid has. Since owning their camera systems we have less breakdowns, fewer push rod kinks, and increased sales.
One of my favorite things about Ridgid is their online software called Ridgid Connect. A cloud based video uploading platform that does wonders for file sharing.
This program allows you to streamline your reporting process. It has built in features that allow you to edit video, extract images, and annotate photos. It has a useful “report building” feature which allows you to email your customer a report with the video and photos attached. Plus, being web based, you can access it from anywhere. My absolute favorite feature of this software, is the ability to level your video- even if you don’t have a self leveling camera. All you do is upload the video, and Ridgid connect takes care of the self leveling part. That way, you are not sending your customer a video of their sewer line and they have to watch it “upside down”.
If you are in the market for a sewer pipeline inspection camera and researching the best systems. I’d recommend Ridgid cameras in a heartbeat. Dependable, affordable, and time-tested. When my customers count on me, I count on Ridgid.
